Colour, light and form can be used in different ways to motivate and stimulate, to control actions, to create an environment of joy or misery.  It can communicate a concept , hierarchy, directionality and focus.

Response to colour can also be influenced by our immediate environment, our geographical location; the nature and character of the light sources; the size and shape of the space; the type of activities that are carried out. Colour does not work in isolation, it needs to be considered in its context.

In making colour choices for interior space, it is crucial to understand the nature and culture of the users, in conjunction with business goals and values.  Selection should also consider the implications of hue and saturation of colour, which play a strong part in eliciting positive feelings and a sense of well-being when appropriately chosen.  Interiors should not be devised purely for reasons of fashion or aesthetics.

By understanding what the client wants to achieve through the refurbishment or design of a space I can apply my expertise to ensure the concept aligns with this and reinforces their business and user  goals.
